Hi all, I was just curious if other overly sensitive meditators out there ever experienced a triggering of overload symptoms after a dental procedure involving Novocain. This happens to me sometimes in the days after I take a medicine for my chronic migraines. I am so sensitive. I also thought this might be due to the changing jobs recently but that was a good and exciting thing for me. A good stress, if that’s a thing. Anyway, just curious if anyone else had a bad experience with overload after some sort of anesthesia was used?

AmyElda, I have personally not have had overload from anesthetic. Novicain hasn't been used for decades but xylocaine and bupivocaine often have epinephrine added to minimize spread of the anesthetic into the blood stream. That chemical can cause a number of side effects as it stimulates the autonomic nervous system. If you are sensitive you might ask your dentist if he/she can use it without epinephrine.

I had a basal cell removed from my neck under local anesthetic, and was overcome with bliss and it took some mindfulness not to moan aloud. I’ve had this procedure done a few times without the same results, I must have needed extra purifying that day

I was given general anaesthesia once (many years ago). Soon after I woke up, a passing doctor said to me "you must be feeling terrible". I remember shaking my head and smiling. I was feeling high, in fact. I thought it must have been the substance still in the system.
