Hi All,

I, for ONE .... am very happy to see this.

If we're not careful, LOVE might start breaking out all over. Attaining ecstatic states with music is not a Hindu thing, or a Jewish thing, or a Christian thing ... it's a human thing.

As Yogani says about various things .... "Good things are happening."

Chant to the Mother - Christian Kirtan Style

Kyrie Eleison - Christian Kirtan Style.

I also think it's interesting that the notes for the first video linked above point out that Amma is the same word in Sanskrit and Aramaic (the language Jesus taught in; it's Imma in Hebrew). There are a lot of words that are part of all three languages - something not a lot of people know.

And, here's another version - Jesus Christ / Kyrie Eleison - kirtan-style, at a Swami Vishwananda darshan.

And here's a more traditional Indian kirtan, also Christian - Yesu Raja (Jesus is King).

Along with, by the same guy Jaya Jaya Yesu Nam (Victory, Victory Jesus' Name).

And - Aum Namah Kristaya (I'm liking this guy!!)

Enjoy!

Wholeheartedly,

Kirtanman

Hi Kirtanman,

Your first example the Jesus Prayer is more often repeated than chanted but can be chanted as you pointed out. Here is a more traditional version :)

Other than that you're right spiritual experience reported from the practice are very similar, as well as the theology behind it.

You should look some Sufi chants they also are very powerful.

I went to see a Sufi ritual in Turkey a few years ago and it changed my life.

I also am a big fan of the Taize services which is done in the Catholic church, Very deep very moving very bhakti ":D

Thanks, Lili ... but unfortunately, it's not visible in the U.S., due to some copyright issue (according to YouTube).

Maybe try to find another version of it?

In the meantime, I thought this was kinda cool ... a Christian (Eastern Orthodox) Priest singing Hare Krishna, with a bunch of people, in Moscow.

Wholeheartedly,

Kirtanman
