I've learned about silence
and I've learned about chatter
but most important
was learning what matters

I've learned other people
with all their degrees
are never as smart
as you'd expect them to be

I've learned about light
and read about dark
neither of which
was a walk in the park

I've learned to respect
and I've learned to forgive
most often in life
you get what you give

I've learned in this life
we ceate our own hell
and often I hope
create heaven as well

Do you worry about illness?
because I never do
most often I find
I worry about you.
