Hi All, I like to read some inspiring spiritual books like daily readers in the morning for about 10-20 min. Short readings not necessarily a novel. I usually read twelve step recovery daily readings (where there’s a reading for each day of the year). I feel bored of books I have and would like recommendations please if u have any? Thx! C

Capucine, nice inspiration readings, thank you! Blanche thank u also:)

So all that I’ve been craving to read lately are real sacred texts direct from the source and I went to the library today to the spiritual section and noticed what books jumped out at me and I came across Bhagavad Gita which I’ve never even opened or read before despite being a yoga teacher. I picked up the book and the most intense goosebumps filled my body and as I read and I was struck with such a profound sense of familiarity and flood of energy in my heart and like I knew this book even though I’ve never read it. It was such a reaction.
I’m borrowing the version translated by Shri Purohit Swami and I’ve just drinking it up. I actually was just enjoying reading the raw Gita text though...but wow what a reaction I’ve never had to any literature.
I’d love to hear what u all have to say about the Gita and which translation u like if any translation at all. I can’t believe I’ve never read this!
glad to have this forum to converse about topics like this. Blessings all!C

the gita is yoga and yoga is the gita, every time you read it the heart opens a little more, all questions are answered and many are posed ,

"i uphold the universe by a fragment of myself "

a revelation came to me about this the other day , i realised that i am that fragment and my universe is indeed upheld by myself or the individual atman

keep the gita close it will be your guide

Thx Kumar! I’m amazing at the power of this one book! What I love about it is the translation I have has all these translations from a variety of saints like yogananda, Sri aurobindo, ghandi etc they’re all there together! it’s like the Gita is their local pub hangout and little me is privileged to just drink some tap water at their table with them!!
