Hi, I am having a big problem for over 3 years by now.I started meditating and learned nauli kriya around 3 years ago and it felt good at that time, i felt really energetic and everything felt awsome for a month. But after a while i started to feel a lot of anxiety
and started feeling my energy levels going really down. After a year i was already really depressed, and feeling anxiety all the time. And its been like that since then and hasnt ended.I have barely energy to stand up , as i feel all my body so tightened.I feel totally disconnected from my emotions and its hard for me to do even simple things as i have so little coordination and bodily awareness left, compared to which i used to have.
So i finally have found now a therapist who told me that these bandhas which i made during nauli kriya, arent suitable for the body type which i am.So i mean i agree with him as i feel that i have locked the energy inside of me, especially with mulabandha. So everyone is speaking how to engage these body locks, but how do you release them?
Sincerely hoping to get some help,
Timm.

Hello Timm

It sounds like a serious imbalance in your practice.

You have meditation on the one hand and energy stimulation practices (Mulabandha, nauli kriya etc). You are doing too much energy stimulation.

Since you are feeling so unwell, I would advise you to stop all practices and spend a few weeks (maybe longer) grounding - long walks, light exercise outdoor, socialising etc. A heavier diet might help too, but make sure you're eating healthily.

When you start to feel better, add meditation back in and stick with that for a few months, make sure you're stable. Then you can begin to add some light energy practices. Maybe jumping to nauli is too steep. Check out the spinal breathing lessons on this website when the time is right. You might find it useful to read the lessons on self-pacing.

What kind of meditation have you been practising and what does your daily yoga routine look like?

Hi tim,
You can stand up and walk around. You can do this.

More practice won't solve the problem of too much practice.
Keep doing your walks and other grounding activities. It takes time for the energy to settle down, especially after months (or years?) of abuse.
