the hand of spirit
that drew the fauna of old
held a torch on ancient rock
to give us wonder of times past

footprints on the floor of time
when to measure meant another rising day
thirty thousand years and more
how the blink of eye can be an eternity

what to dream in landscape full of being
to survive to love and lose
the same way as today
but without distraction

the painted moods of fellow spirits
traced in essence and full of life
talk to us of something more
without a word speechless i stand

thankyou to artists of
the caves of chauvet france
