to return to the majesty of viewing the world through childlike eyes
to retain the wisdom and strength garnered from the grit of experience

to watch the caterpillar inch its way into destiny
without rushing and forcing the process of pupation

to envision the grandeur of genius architecture
and to see that sticks in the sand contain the same seed

to recognize that it's all been an open book from the beginning
and that we're co-authors writing the greatest story ever told.

gobbling up darkness with mouthfuls of kindness
he breathed in the savagery around him
having grown tired of fearing it

the shield of unbearable lightness which was his being
knew better than what the front pages were telling him
despite the doubt and cataclysmic prophecies of his material mind

the curves in her body revealed the delicacy in the hand of God
and her beauty broke down any hope of maintaining sanity
because he would go to great lengths to touch the Eternal Sublime
hiding beneath the artistry of deception and fulfillment

with an ancient rhythm and ferocious devotion
he lulled into the swell of battle against the elusive unattainable
swearing that he would not stop until the prize was won.
