I've stumbled into this book today, I haven't read it yet but it looks like a very interesting read. Most of the sages whom stories are included in the book are very well known in the spiritual circles.

Hi Ananda

Today I signed into forum to share my thoughts on death and transformation quoting from an wonderful book named 'Tibetan book of living and dying' by Sogyal Rinpoche. Sort of amazed to find your post on this topic... :)

My take on this subject

Identifying the lumnious awareness within(called Pure bliss consciousness here) and living from that heart space is the simple teaching propogated by world religions. When our awareness becomes still and centered around it, all duality dissolves into that central channel of blinding light

Death becomes a process of intense transformation where we return the five elements which housed the Spirit in this physical plane back to the Source. A eventual merging of silent bliss and ecstasy -- all of AYP is geared towards taking one step at a time towards that final mergence while still living. Simple yet profound!

Just now found that the book is available online:
