Posted - Sep 02 2010 : 11:20:57 AM Hi All, Stillness expresses itself in many ways. A few months back I started painting again after almost 26 year, and was pleasantly surprised at what showed up on the canvas.
I would love to take credit for what is expressed on the canvas, but, it truly is stillness expressing itself. The colors, the brush strokes, the final outcome is not something I plan on.
I really don't have any formal training in art, and the other day a friend of mine asked me what technique I had used on a certain painting... I had no idea , I just paint and let stillness guide me.
I hope you enjoy the stillness as much as I enjoy it. http://the-journey-inward.blogspot....illness.html
PS: If you click on the names of the painting below the painting itself, it will take you to a blog post on it, which kinda talks about the creation of each one. |

Posted - May 20 2013 : 5:26:16 PM Thanks Josh! Maybe the colors in the "Moment" painting brought his work to mind... I am nowhere near his level of artistry, so very honored to know that a painting of mine brought his paintings to your mind. Hope you are well! Thank you again my dear! Much love!

Posted - May 20 2013 : 3:18:07 PM Thanks for sharing these Shweta! They are lovely. My favorite was 'Lost In... a "Moment"
It was slightly reminiscent, for me, of some of Gustav Klimt's work. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Gustav_Klimt_016.jpg
Very different and unique from Klimt, but for some reason it bought his paintings to mind.

Posted - May 20 2013 : 06:21:53 AM Thank you Sunyata! We all have a talent (be it writing, painting, music, singing, speech, orator), something the universe uses to express stillness through us, at times it is not obvious, as you continue, you will find yours.
Oh, and teddy bears are the best! |

Posted - May 13 2013 : 8:31:14 PM The past few months I have been working on a series of paintings called "Lost In..." These paintings just flowed... No pencil, models, pictures to inspire... Picked up the paints and brush and a few hours later the paintings emerged. Here is the series of 5 paintings... http://the-journey-inward.blogspot....lost-in.html |

The Emergence gives me a feeling that it is submerged and I am looking at it through water .. cool . And I love the light emitting feathers – guess you are a good student

Thanks Bodhi and Swan! I just love how the images emerges in these paintings.
The next painting I do with David will be to learn another painting technique, very excited about that as well... but maybe I should start one on my own with the above technique soon... |

I have been taking a few lessons with David Gulotta (met him at one of our retreats, an amazing artist, teacher and friend https://www.facebook.com/pages/Gulo...941925096721). And this is the first painting I completed with him. Love this style of painting, here you let the painting emerge. For anyone interested... it started off like this... https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...pe=1&theater |
