Posted - Mar 01 2011 : 02:51:15 AM Dear AYP family,
all I can say is that the mountain is still alive and Ramana's grace is as strong as ever. It was a trip of growing up in all ways... And one hell of an adventure. To those who have received the invitation spiritually I strongly suggest going there; It won't be easy but it will be all good.
There are three teachers there whom I can recommend; Two are always available in Tiru and one is always on the move.
First I'd recommend Cezar Teruel (attended 10 satsangs with him and they were all a blast) but he's always on the move and not always present in Tiru: http://www.gurusfeet.com/guru/cesar
Second, if you want to experience the grace of silence first hand without all the talking and mind games... Go and have the Darshan of Shiva Shakti Ammaiyar: http://www.gurusfeet.com/guru/siva-sakthi-ammaiyar
IMHO she's the real deal, but only available for 15 minutes in the morning from 10 to 10:15 am.
Third, there's Ganesan: http://richardarunachala.wordpress....uvannamalai/
I didn't attend satsang with the fellow, but was graced to have the chance to sit and meditate next to him and have his powerful look in Ramana's ashram's big hall a few hours before leaving Tiru.
To my lucky stars I was also graced to have a glimpse of Sri Lakshmana swamy walking in the back of his ashram while I was attending satsang with Cezar at a roof top near Arunachala Heradayam where Sri Lakshmana lives. That was all by shere luck of course and from a distance because Sri Lakshmana is not accessible to anyone and is 85 years old now I think and very rarely does anyone except the close circle around him see him...
All in all, i've got from this trip what I needed and not what I wanted and for me it was all a big blessing :-)
Glory to Arunachala Ramana
Love, Ananda
P.s: Still on my AYP practices but with better results |

Posted - Jun 08 2011 : 06:09:00 AM Dear Ananda,
(1) I wanted to visit Cesar but it seems he is not in Tiruvannamalai these days...I had reached out to the email ids in Gurusfeet website but did not hear from him. Do you have any info on his availability in Tiru?
(2) Also, pls provide any contact info for Ganesan at Ramanashram. I would like to attend his satsang next time when i visit Tiru.
(3) My friend is a disciple of Saradamma (disciple of Lakshmananswamy). He could only meet her after almost 8 - 9 months after he started visiting her ashram...he used to sit at the ashram gate and medidate. It seems she expects a certain amount of cleansing to be done before she meets people. I tried sitting at the gate couple of times but could not meet her.
Also, my friend informed that Lakshmanaswamy does not give any public darshans anymore. FYI.
Thanks, Senthil

Posted - Apr 30 2011 : 03:55:04 AM Dear Maheswari,
You would have to talk to Mira; She's the woman sitting at the gate outside, she's been sitting there for 9 years now and she's a beautiful kind soul... She just sits and meditate and when people come and they would like to meet Saradamma, she tells them to write her a small letter which she may pass to her. If she is to give her darshan she will allow you entrance the next day, if not like what happened with me well then you won't. I was told that she was sick and didn't meet people when I was there but I tried anyway... Had nothing to lose.
As for their visits, no I don't. But Sri Lakshmana appears twice in public throughout the year for giving public darshan and one of these times on the 25th. The other is at deepam day I think and I really don't know when that is...
By the way, the suffi zikr yesterday was beautiful. Good thing I changed my mind and went . I think all my lebanese friends should go visit this evening. But I won't be there tonight, maybe tomorrow.
Love, Ananda

Posted - Apr 16 2011 : 12:21:00 PM Ananda thanks for sharing your experiences. My main interest for going there is to understand Ramana Maharishi's teachings. Is there anyone there with whom one can have an interaction ( Q & A) as regards Ramana Maharishi's teachings? |

If anything It's the Freedom/Tranquility/Felicity which is the best in all of this.

Posted - Apr 01 2011 : 02:31:35 AM Yes Bro
But something really tiring happened with both of these walks the first time I tried to do them...
When I tried to first walk up to skandashram and virupaksha cave I had my shoes on and someone told me on the path to take them off because this is the holiest place on earth so I did and when I reached the cave to my luck it was closed so I returned back and the sun was very burning then so my feet were really set on fire but when I got back I found my mind to be as empty (as clear) as it never been.
Next day everything worked out just fine and I visited both caves and meditated and it was very devotional or romantic you may say like when a lover meets his first love after a long time...
But as for pradakshina around Arunachala, something similar also happened. I wanted to walk barefoot around the mountain but on the way found everyone wearing shoes but I kept on pushing and at first I got lost but then stumbled with people whom I followed... Anyways after walking like almost half way around the mountain my feet couldn't take the pain no more (there were a lot of small pointy rocks on the way) so I took off the road and started walking between the farms and finally arrived at a boulevard and then walked back to Ramanasram and it was one hell of a walk maybe the walk of my life and stumbled into a black kali temple...
After two days I came back and did the walk with shoes plus I got up on the yellow path which leads to the mountain and I felt really blessed during that walk.
I've been also told that what happened with me around Arunachala has happened with many who couldn't continue the walk barefoot because of the pointy small rocks there awchhh
