"Asanas, Mudras and Bandhas - Awakening Ecstatic Kundalini" provides a practical
approach for incorporating yoga postures and specialized inner physical maneuvers into a
compact daily routine of practices that includes spinal breathing pranayama and deep
meditation.
Kundalini awakening is covered with clarity, including a discussion of symptoms and

Taking your yoga to the next level, Mar 4 2007
Reviewer: A (Canada)
Asanas, Mudras and Bandhas - Awakening Ecstatic Kundalini by Yogani is an excellent
resource for yoga practitioners, very clear, concise and easy to understand. It is also a
must-read for people interested in taking their yoga and spiritual practices to the next
level by providing very powerful tools to awaken and expand kundalini energy within.
Asanas Mudras and Bandhas contains methods rarely if ever revealed to the
general public and definitely has the potential to open the door for permanent life change
in any dedicated spiritual practitioner. I highly recommend it!

Thorough
coverage of the ecstatic side of Enlightenment!, November 5, 2006
Reviewer: weaver (USA)
Yogani's most recent book in the AYP Enlightenment Series is Asanas Mudras and Bandhas -
Awakening Ecstatic Kundalini. The author has again managed to fit an extensive subject
like this into a small, easy-to-read book of only 100 pages. Despite the small size, it's
a comprehensive guide to all of the more "physical" aspects of Yoga that can be
added to meditation for steady progress on the spiritual path. One of the aspects that I
found most valuable is the thorough discussion on kundalini, how to manage it and the
symptoms that can come up, a subject that otherwise often is shrouded in secrecy. Asanas,
mudras and bandhas have a key role to play in the evolution and management of kundalini.
I very much recommend this book to anyone interested in learning Yoga, as well as to the
advanced practitioner, who undoubtedly will find much new information of interest in it.

Great book!, October 27, 2006
Reviewer: Boogey Boo "-S" (USA)
The asanas in this book are very easy to perform, yet they are some of the most advanced
yogic exercises you can find. A beginner who is out of shape and stiff could easily use
this book as an introduction to hatha yoga. And it would limber them up and make them
healthier. There are also physical exercises that are included towards the end, which in
my opinion are great. If I didn't already have an exercise routine I'd do this one. It's
all self-paced, so you can start out slow, build up a good base, and work your way up to
greatness.
This isn't simply for beginners though. Advanced yogis also benefit from this great book.
There are descriptions of how to perform the mudras and bandhas, which subtly impact the
structure of the body...ultimately bringing about enlightenment. Generally, without the
help of an experienced yogi, it's not wise to just start doing mudras and bandhas. But
this book can function as your help.
The explanations on the kundalini contained in this book are probably the most concise
ever written. Having gone through a kundalini awakening, I can say the advice on grounding
and stabilizing the energies is great. The path isn't so dangerous anymore now that these
books are around.
For further information, in case you're curious, the AYP forum is a great place to get
help from other yogis and yoginis.
Good luck! I hope you enjoy the book!

Excellent introduction to asanas as real
Yoga, October 17, 2006
Reviewer: David R. (Providence, RI USA)
Excellent! This is part of a series in which the author makes advanced yoga much more
accessible. This book integrates hatha yoga with the rest of true yoga. Because of the
prevalence of hatha yoga, the book fills an important niche. And he still managed to make
it easy, and inspiring, reading!
As with all of the books in Yogani's Yoga series, it is both accessible to beginners and
yet has a lot of depth, so it is also good for the more 'advanced' yoga practicioner.
This book is a bridge, integrating physical and spiritual practices. It's a must-buy if:
you want to tie in your hatha yoga with a real, spiritual yoga practice; or, you want to
supplement any spiritual practice with the health-giving effects of hatha yoga. While you
are at it, buy all the others in the series!

Excellent book of ananas for beginner or
advanced Yoga practitioners, October 17, 2006
Reviewer: Shanti
This has to be one of the most well balanced yoga books written. This book crushes the
misconception that "yoga" is just "asanas"/postures. The fact that
yoga actually has eight limbs and asanas are just one of the eight limbs, is forgotten by
many in the yoga world. Asanas are not just about physical fitness and relaxation. Along
with deep meditation and spinal breathing pranayam, asanas play a very important role on
the spiritual path.
This book has real easy to follow instructions that are arranged in a clear and logical
way and can be a great starter kit of asanas for beginners, which they could later follow
up by more advanced practices like mudras and bandhas. This book can also be used by
advanced practitioners to improve their asanas by adding advanced mudras and bandhas like
Nauli, Jalandhar bandha, Kechari mudra, Yoni mudra, Maha mudra and many more... all
included in this book. Also, here is one of the clearest discussions on third eye and
spinal nerve purification and opening you will find anywhere.
Although not recognized by many, just doing asanas does not really satisfy the desire for
inner peace, there is always a feeling that something is missing. This book explains that
something. This is definitely not the first book on asanas, however it is the best and
most practical book available, I have seen, that shows how asanas fit into the eight limbs
of yoga. Just don't be fooled by the simplicity of the contents of the book. The asanas,
mudras and bandhas explained in this book are really powerful and need to be approached
with care. As long as you follow the instructions you can safely maneuver your way
through.
Another indication that this is a serious book on yoga is the fact that it clearly covers
Kundalini awakening and how to safely manage the rise of permanent ecstatic conductivity
in the body. This book is the real thing ... highly recommended for anyone from beginner
to advanced who is serious about the whole of yoga.

Physical yoga postures for the benefit of
meditation, October 16, 2006
Reviewer: Bill (Texas)
I've only just started practicing the fourteen yoga postures described in this book and
can already feel the differnce in my meditation. Concentration is better, the body is
looser, and my meditation is deeper. I haven't even looked into the more powerful steps to
enhance these postures, but I am looking forward to them. A paced approach to yoga is
emphasized in all of Yogani's work and is necessary to keep from burning out.
While many yoga books contain more postures, Yogani chose only fourteen. This was a
deliberate approach and after doing various streching routines, I can attest that these
fourteen are ideal to prepare for meditation. Thay can be done quickly, they move the
blood around, and help to quiet the mind. There is nothing extra here, just what you need
to do to get ready for meditation...no fluff, nothing extra, nothing ommitted.
The mudras section delves into some pretty serious yoga stuff that you can get a overview
of on the AYP website. As usual the writing here is more polished, the techniqes better
explained, and the ideas expanded upon.
If you are looking to deepen your meditation, get started with some physical yoga
postures, or want to learn some advanced practices then pick this gem up!

It's the little things..., October 13, 2006
Reviewer: Nicole Fisher (Deerfield Beach, FL USA)
This book offers simple yet profound insight and instruction on physical yoga postures
(asanas), interior maneuvers (mudras and bandhas), the effects on your internal nature,
and beyond. A must read for anyone practicing, or especially instructing any and all
branches of yoga. If you want to learn more about the real benefits of yoga then you found
the right book. I have already noticed a significant difference in my sitting practices
since reading this book and putting the most simple of the techniques to use. This book,
as well as the others in its series provides you with the tools. Whether you're interested
in obtaining a little more peace in your life or ecstatic bliss consciences.

Asanas, Mudras and Bandhas- Awakening
Ecstatic Kundalini, October 7, 2006
Reviewer: Guy E. Dawson (afton,ny)
Wow! Yogani has done it again. Asanas, Mudras and Bandhas Is the 4th book I've read by
Yogani in "The Enlightenment Series" Somehow he has taken a somewhat complex and
secret teaching and put everything in a simple and easy to understand 100 pages. If you
haven't read "Deep Meditation" by Yogani I'd suggest to start there, then you're
off and on your way to Enlightenment. It's that simple. Asanas, Mudras and Bandhas-
Awakening Ecstatic Kundalini is a dynamo! I highly recommend it.
