Lesson T20 - New Tantra Links section
From: Yogani
Date: Tue Mar 23, 2004 5:47pm
New Members: It is recommended you read from the beginning of this tantra yoga archive, as
previous lessons are prerequisite to this one. The first lesson is, "What is tantra yoga?"
You may have noticed that the links section was turned on
here in the tantra group recently. It was done shortly after the now fast growing yoga
links section was started in the main group. But nothing has been put in the tantra links
section, until now.
Some leading tantra resources, authors, schools, and teachers' links have now been posted,
and more will be added over time. If you have any favorite tantra links you'd like to
suggest for posting, please submit them by email.
For now, I have decided not to post links relating to networking for finding partners for
sacred sex and divine intimacy, or sites that are predominantly sexually explicit. There
are many other places where these can be found. The goal in this group is to focus on
education in tantra, particularly as it pertains to supplementing an overall system of
advanced yoga practices aiming at the enlightenment of the practitioner.
Though the people and organizations listed are believed to have high standards in their
work, there is the tendency even from the best teachers to "give the customers what
they want," which is bigger and longer orgasms. As you know from the lessons here,
that is not a primary objective to be met on the road to enlightenment. Yet, it remains a
preoccupation with many of us.
Recognizing that this tendency exists, I will go ahead and list the best tantra teachers
and resources we can come up with. Having the links there will help you develop
perspective on the AdvancedYogaPractices tantra lessons in relation to different
approaches and practices. The growing links section in the main group has certainly
brought a lot of people out of the woodwork in a positive way. We are all more comfortable
with something when we can compare it with other similar things. It is good science too,
and I am for that.
Keep in mind that posted links are not endorsements, only information for you to consider
as you travel along your chosen path.
The guru is in you.
Note: For
detailed instructions on the methods of tantra in relation to the broad
scope of yoga practices and the enlightenment process,
see the AYP Tantra book.
