Lesson 419 – Where’s the Shaktipat Coming
From?
From: Yogani
Date: July 9, 2010
New Members: It is recommended you read from the beginning of the web archive, as previous
lessons are prerequisite to this one. The first lesson is, "Why
This Discussion?"
Q: My bhakti leads me to ask if it is possible I am receiving some kind of
shaktipat from you? I know that the guru is in me, but I truly consider you
as an external reflection of my inner guru and a clear guide on my spiritual
path. I wonder if we people who have a role in AYP, running meditation
groups and teaching, are receiving extra blessings from you.
I would like to ask you if your are doing shaktipat for me from time to
time, because since I started doing more AYP activities, I have experienced
extra impulses. Since I started running a meditation group, I have
experienced streams of bliss and energy, inner silence and increased bhakti.
Before starting the meditation group, I had a meeting with several potential
members, and I clearly perceived a lot of grace bathing us. It was like
yellow-golden light. Since then, things have happened really fast and it has
been like a miracle in our lives.
One of the group members asked me if I was sending energy because one night
she felt an inner light and that kind of experience. I said it was not me,
but other presences behind the scenes helping us.
Where is all this coming from? If it is you, I hope you will continue to
bless us. Is this a samyama thing you are doing? Is that how it works?
A: Spiritual energy is everywhere, and its flow is determined by our bhakti
(see Lessons 146 and 332). So
what you think is about me is really about you, and you are doing very well.
I am always releasing in stillness the best intentions for everyone, and can
assure you that this is a small thing compared to your own bhakti, which is
most affected by your practices, your spiritual activities, and the company
you keep. So I am a small part, and do not even know what my influence may
be, if any. Given all the activities going on there, it is no surprise that
all concerned are feeling a boost. It's a good thing. As with anything, the
more we are putting in, the more will be coming out. It is best to do, let
it go, and carry on.
It is not a good idea to place the credit with any particular person or
source, as it can breed undo dependency, and this can lead to distortions
and obstructions on our path. So just keep going with practices and helping
others, and enjoy the ride.
Many thanks for all you are doing. Good things are happening.
The guru is in you.

near and far, see the Samyama book.
