Lesson 142 - New Links section
Share your favorite yoga website
From: Yogani
Date: Tue Mar 16, 2004 2:39pm
New Members: It is recommended you read from the beginning of the web archive, as previous
lessons are prerequisite to this one. The first lesson is, "Why
This Discussion?"
Since AdvancedYogaPractices began late last year, there have been requests from various
yoga teachers and facilities to post information about their services here.
While I heartily support the work of all yoga teachers everywhere (see lesson #71), I have declined to incorporate such information in the lessons.
This is because it is not possible keep the lessons focused on the discussion of advanced
yoga practices, and at the same time be a network for all the wonderful yoga teachers,
paths, and retreat facilities that are out there.
There is a solution.
The "Links" feature of the group has been turned on,
and is accessible from the main menu on the homepage of AdvancedYogaPractices. I
considered opening it up so anyone can putlinks there. But after checking a few other
Yahoo groups that allow this, I found it would be inviting spammers, pornographic and
commercial non-yoga sites to pollute the environment. So, for now, links will be put there
by email request only. If you send a request, include a title and short description to be
posted with the link.
If you are a yoga teacher or retreat facility, I will be happy to post your website in the
new links section, and it will be available to the thousands of members of the group
located all over the world.
If you are a yoga practitioner who would like to suggest a favorite yoga website, then
feel free to do so.
Links not related to yoga, spiritual practices or knowledge will not be posted.
For those who have submitted requests in the past, please accept my apology for not having
thought of this sooner, and kindly resubmit your request if you would like to have your
link posted. That will save me the effort of tracking down requests in what is now a huge
saved email file.
Keep in mind that the posting of a link does not represent an endorsement. It is just
additional information for you to consider as you travel along your chosen path.
The guru is in you.
Note: For detailed
instructions on building a balanced practice routine with self-pacing, see the
AYP Eight Limbs of Yoga book.
